Bug reports, feature requests, billing issues, or just feedback — any of it. Including your iOS version and the PainBrief version (Settings → General → iPhone Storage → PainBrief) speeds things up.

Frequently Asked Questions

I bought PainBrief Pro but a new device shows me as a free user. How do I restore?

Open PainBrief, go to any locked feature in Reports, tap the lock to bring up the paywall, and tap Restore Purchase at the bottom. As long as you're signed into the same Apple ID you used originally, Pro will reactivate within a few seconds. If it doesn't, email us with the Apple ID email address and we'll look into it.

Where is my data stored? Is it backed up anywhere?

All your pain logs, medications, doses, vitals, and settings live in a local database on your iPhone. PainBrief has no servers and we cannot see your data. The on-device database is included in your iCloud Backup (if you have that switched on in iOS Settings) and in any local backups you take through Finder / iTunes. We do not offer a separate export at this time — your Clinical PDF report (Pro) is the closest thing.

Why doesn't my Apple Health data show up in Vitals?

Go to iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → PainBrief and make sure the categories you care about are toggled on. You can choose exactly which metrics PainBrief is allowed to read (heart rate, blood pressure, weight, sleep, steps, SpO₂, glucose, etc.). If a category is off, PainBrief simply doesn't see it.

I'd like a refund.

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with the Apple ID that made the purchase, find the PainBrief Pro charge, and request a refund. Apple typically responds within 48 hours. If they decline and you'd like us to advocate on your behalf, email us with the order ID and we'll do what we can.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. PainBrief is iOS-only for now. If demand grows we may explore Android, but there's no committed timeline.

Will my data sync between iPhone and iPad?

Not currently. PainBrief is iPhone-only at launch. Data stays on the device it was entered on.

How do I completely delete all my data?

Uninstall PainBrief from your iPhone. iOS removes the app's entire sandboxed storage, including your pain logs. If you also want your RevenueCat customer record deleted (this is anonymous and contains only purchase status, not your pain data), email us and we'll trigger a deletion.

I want to suggest a feature.

Please do — email [email protected] and describe what you'd find useful and why. Roadmap is driven heavily by user feedback.

I'm a clinician and want to know more about the PDF report.

PainBrief generates a multi-page PDF including: episode log with timestamps, severity, body zones, duration, character and triggers; a daily severity chart; a body pain distribution heat map; medication and dose history; and a vitals summary if HealthKit access is granted. It's intended as a structured supplement to your existing consultation, not a clinical record. Email for a sample PDF.
