FAQ

How do I add a custom reminder?

More tab → Reminders → tap the + button. Pick a source (all quotes, a category, an author, or your favourites), a time, and a frequency.

Notifications aren't showing up. What do I do?

Check your device's notification permissions for QuoteBook in iOS Settings or Android Settings. Toggle a reminder off and on again inside the app to force a re-schedule.

I think a quote is misattributed.

Please email me the quote, what you think the correct attribution is, and your primary source. Every quote in QuoteBook is verified against a real text — but I'm one person, and mistakes happen. I take corrections seriously and fix them in the next release.

Can I suggest a quote or an author?

Yes — More tab → Suggest a Quote, or email me directly. Include the quote, the author, and the primary source (book + chapter, letter date, speech occasion, recorded interview, etc.). Quotes without a verifiable primary source don't make it in.

Will my favourites sync across devices?

No. QuoteBook has no accounts and no cloud sync — by design. Favourites and reminders live on the device you set them up on. Uninstalling the app deletes them.

Why isn't [my favourite thinker] in here?

Probably because (a) I haven't gotten to them yet, (b) their corpus didn't yield quotes that fit a self-regulation lens, or (c) most of their famous "quotes" online turned out to be misattributed. Email me — I keep a list to revisit.

Is there an Android version?

Yes — QuoteBook is built cross-platform with React Native. Look for it on Google Play.

How can I support the work?

The app is free with no paywall. If it earns a place on your home screen and you want to chip in, buy me a coffee. That's it — no obligation.
